My sweet sweet big girl -
Let me start by saying how incredibly proud of you I am. You are such a caring, huge soul in a tiny little body and it makes this family special. To watch you grow and see you learn and discover life and make mistakes and share in your accomplishments has been the absolute joy of my life. I can’t wait to see you continue to add to your skillset and show off your hilarious personality. You keep me and mommy laughing all day long.
These days you love to build legos, play barbies, play soccer in the backyard, do projects with mom like painting and coloring and stickers and come on adventures with me to petsmart. You’re an amazing helper at dinner time and in the backyard and I think you’re getting a sense for hard work. It’s really fun to see you put your mind to something and make it happen. Keep going my beautiful girl because you can do anything.
Since my last letter, we’ve taken a trip to Rosemary Beach and gotten our new deck in the backyard. Those are the big ticket items. Aside from our looming little baby sister or brother.
We talk a lot about names and if it will be a boy or a girl but you are CONVINCED it will be a girl and that we will name it Ellie. As for mom and I, we think it will be a boy. The names at the moment are either Isla or Casey. TBD on middle names.
Today means we are officially 10 days out from the due date. Doctors want mom to be induced before then though so we might be meeting this kid at some point this week.
I can’t wait to see you as a big sister - I think you’re going to be incredible. Caring for the baby, helping mom and I, teaching the baby how to play, loving on it. I’m sure there will be an adjustment period for all of us, where we have to navigate how to share attention and space but from what I hear, we’re about to grow the love in this house big time. I’m pumped to be a double dad. Kinda scared too, to be honest. Really don’t want to rock the boat on this perfect little mix we have but I grew up an only child and I always wanted a sibling. I think it’ll be awesome but the first 5 years will be a challenge haha.
