Hi.

Have a look at your life, one post at a time.

My little angel -

Here we are at the end of 2020. We’re closing in on your first birthday real soon and it’s unbelievable how quickly time is flying. I think I say this in every letter, but I can’t believe how much you grow each day. Here’s a quick checklist of things you do now:

  • walk

  • say the following words: baby, woo woo (dog + every other kind of animal), wee (for fun slides and stuff), dada, mama, wow, ball

  • you sign “more”, "bah bah”, “eat”

  • you blow kisses and wave

  • you clap hands and feet

  • when we ask where your nose is you can point to it

  • when we ask how old you’re going to be you put up 1 finger

  • dance like a maniac and bop your head along with every song you hear

  • you hate socks, shoes and bows

  • you’ve started willingly giving kisses and half hugs

We were so excited to have your first Christmas. Mom got a really great video of you turning the corner from the bedroom to the living room and saying “wow” in awe of the presents. So great. You went right up to the slide and started saying “wee” - you’re incredibly smart. The other day you tried to plug a USB into the wall outlet, like how do you even know how to do that?

These days are filled with mom and I hanging with you in your room and playing with all your toys. You love to play with every kind of ball and you’re starting to throw them, too. I’ve had the past two weeks off to close out the year and it’s been awesome to spend with you guys. We haven’t done much since the pandemic is still going on. Lots of time at grandma and grandpas.

The other day we ran out and left you at grandma’s and when we got back you crawled really fast when you saw mom and gave her a big hug.

Gotta be honest with you here, even though this year has been fucked up and weird and hard for so many people, it’s been an amazing year for us. Kicked off with you entering the world, then we moved to Georgia (something we’d been talking about for a long long time), I became a VP and we’ve inched closer and closer towards saving for a house. I can’t think of anything I could be more thankful for than having you and mom to share my love with. I’ll deny it if you ever confront me about it, but the other day I was holding you in the living room listening to The Next Right Thing from the Frozen 2 soundtrack and I started tearing up because I was holding my baby girl in my arms and we were sharing a moment. I was overwhelmed with how happy I am to finally be a dad and to be YOUR dad. You’re my favorite part of life.

Signing off with the last post of 2020 and a few pictures from Christmas + earlier in December.

Love you big time,

Dad
