Hi.

Have a look at your life, one post at a time.

Hi Shorty –

Coming to you from the couch on Arlo Road. Mom just left to go to Lindsay’s bridal shower dinner thing in Jersey so I’m home alone. Today was pretty chill. We went to Snug Harbor for a nice walk and then we went to the Spanish place on the other side of the island for lunch. Always so good. We took a couple pics.

Now I’m just hanging around doing some laundry since we’re headed to Aunt Jane’s tomorrow. It’s nice to get the laundry done early. That’s something I’ve really been inspired by lately. Kevin Love, a pro basketball player for the Cavs has been someone I’m really interested in. He’s a great follow on Instagram and he’s been on a couple of podcasts I really like, and his mentality is “get your work done early”. It’s a good approach for life. It’s been part of the reason I try to hit the gym in the morning, which is admittedly much easier on the weekends vs before work. But even when I get to work, I try to put my head down and knock as much out as early as possible. Because after that it’s all gravy. You’ve got the hard stuff out of the way and I find that it holds me accountable. If I go to the gym first thing in the morning, I’m more likely to eat good the rest of the day because why would I squander that work out? On the weekends with mom I allow myself two “bad” meals. So that pork + rice and beans I snapped is one of them and last night I had pizza. But for the rest of my meals it’s business as usual – veggies as a base. No carbs, no sugars. On the weekend I also give myself a little leeway on having a few beers but nothing crazy.

Btw this is out of nowhere, but I just want to say that I think Nike Dunks are about to make a comeback. Want that documented here. I also bought you some Jordan 1’s and I’ve never had a pair so I think I might pick up the white/obsidians. Easy to wear to work and easy to pair with any pair of jeans I own.

Also, after a few listens, Lover by Taylor Swift sounds like it might be a decent album.

Love you big time,

Dad
