Hi.

Have a look at your life, one post at a time.

Holy Daylight Savings Batman!

Mom and I woke up super friggin early today because the clocks went back an hour. As expected yesterday we made our way over to Jersey and checked out those Volkswagon’s. I regret to inform you that mom fell in love with a really beautiful navy blue 2019 Atlas but it doesn’t have all the features she wants, like a sunroof or a black interior. It’s also used with 10K miles on it and costs $35K. The manager came down to $33K on it, which puts the monthly at $493 but mom and are both uncomfortable at that number. It’s probably a good deal but we can’t shake the idea of a better deal somewhere out there. We spent WAY too long in the dealership, but it ended up working out because we got to test drive both the Atlas and the Tiguan. The Tiguan is out. It’s a solid car, and decent enough but once you’ve experienced the Atlas, there’s no coming back. It’s so big and beautiful and the ride is so smooth.

After Volkswagon, we ate in a Pizza Hut (fucking awesome!) and went over to Sansone to test drive a Hyundai Santa Fe. If we were at VW for 4 hours, we must have been at Hyundai for a half hour and got all the info we needed AND a test drive. To be clear, the Santa Fe is not the Atlas. It’s less impressive but damn does it come with all the stuff mom and I like. Honestly, mom is driving more of the accessories/amenities. She wants black leather interior, a power lift gate and a sunroof and I want her to have it all because she’s my favorite person. Plus, when we spoke to the dealer, he said he could get us in that car for around $400/month.

Now mom and I have to decide what’s more important. Financial flexibility or flexing these nuts in a dope ride. As two kids of fiscally conservative parents I think I know where we’ll end up, but damn would the Atlas be sick.

After our long-ass car day, we went over to Lisa’s party and had a pretty good time. Everyone there was really nice and inviting and of course we talked a lot about you. At around 10:30 their limo came to whisk them away to a bar in the city. That was our cue, so mom and I got the hell out of there, came home and got in our cozy pants. Best feeling.

We’re gonna knock out some laundry and grocery shopping today and I think we’ll just chill. Keep on growing.

Love you big time,

Dad
