Holy Moly! Barenaked Ladies had it right when they said “the years start coming and they don’t stop coming” only in this case, I’m adapting it for months. I can’t believe it’s already been a month since my last letter to you sweet bug. We went on our first vacation - to Florida! Took you to the beach for the first time and then we went to the Georgia Aquarium when we got back.
You’re officially a big big girl now too. You stand and sit so easy when you have something to grab on to and you crawl around a mile a minute. You can do hi-5s and as of a few days ago when mommy says “arms up!” you shoot your arms straight up to get dressed. You’ve got 8 teeth, including the front two which are spaced out a bit. And you eat almost everything we give you. You love French fries (duh!) and you love ice cream (double duh!). These days mom and I have a hard time keeping up with you. Always squirming and looking to get into trouble.
You’re a sweet sweet pumpkin who loves to laugh and get scared. Mom and I jump at you and make noises and it cracks you up almost every time. You also love it when I flip you upside down and swing you by your legs. You’re still not sleeping through the night which is FUN for me and mom but hopefully that ends soon.
As for the rest of the world, it’s a shitshow. The election is on nov 3 so there are debates happening now between Trump and Joe Biden. Coronavirus is still very much in effect so we still have to wear masks out in public and a lot of businesses have updated mandates/spacing rules. Apparently they’ll have a vaccine early next year, but we’ll see. Trump has basically said he won’t leave office peacefully if he loses so it should be interesting to see what bullshit the county has to put up with when/if that happens.
As for me and mom, we’ve been doing alright. I did Sober September with the guys in my band so I’ve been eating better and drinking less. Also been working out more - last night I went on a 2 mile run. I think a lot about the example I want to set for you and living a healthy, active life is one of them. We’re 3 months into living in Georgia already, almost 4 if you count the time we spent at Grandma and Grandpa’s. I don’t because that was a weird in between before we had an apartment. Mom and I just celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary and we’ve got Halloween coming up. Can’t wait to see you in your little pumpkin outfit.
Everyone else in the family is good. We video chatted last night with my mom and dad, they miss you very much. Mom and I are talking about going up there for Thanksgiving so we should be seeing them pretty soon. As for pop culture, the NBA finals are happening now with The Lakers vs The Heat. Lebron is in his 10th finals, dude is amazing. Mom and I have been watching a show called The Handmaid’s Tale. It’s awesome. All about this weird dystopian version of society called Gilead that prioritizes procreation above all else.
Think that’s really all I got. Photos of life the past month below per usual. Pretty soon you’re going to be able to read these!
Love you big time,
Dad
